Job Summary: The Nursing Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating nurse placement and visit confirmations of Infusion Field Nurses. He/she must understand the needs of the clients by working with specialty pharmacies for approved medication, selecting appropriate nurses, and performing ongoing case management to ensure we are consistently meeting our clients’ needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate strategic placement of services between clients and the Field Nurses based on the client’s needs
- Maintain and document communication with the nurses; provide infusion nurses with pharmacy-approved patients
- Maintain active doctor orders, and communicate with specialty pharmacies to coordinate the delivery of medication so the infusion nurse has it at the time of visit
- Process time-sensitive field paperwork for weekly payroll submission for nurses by confirming visits
- Verify billed services and process and send out billing to contracts and pharmacies on a weekly basis
- Maintain and document communication with all nurses in HHA eXchange; coordinate the nurses’ schedules and maintain a schedule of all services per month
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy with dignity and respect
- Answer telephone, record and relay messages to appropriate personnel
- Manage telephone calls in a supportive, reassuring manner for patients, families, physicians, and others
- Be the liaison between the patient and specialty pharmacies to ensure quality infusion care
- Manage the care service provided for patient census
- Manage all aspects of attendance by confirming nurse attendance, monitoring missed visits and missed attendance
- Communicate openly with the Director and other staff in the department regarding scheduling, availability, attendance and/or difficult to staff cases
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- HHA Exchange experience is required
- Outgoing, positive personality
- Professional, good phone and communication skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Being a team player by participating in on-call rotation with other team members
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage time to help reduce overtime
