The Network Administrator will support the Infrastructure Engineer position to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and support of Tean's server and network infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT assets. This position provides 2nd level technical support troubleshooting and problem solving for the internal end user support team and acts as a conduit to 3rd level support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Acquisition, deployment, and maintenance of networking technologies including switches, routers, VLANs, VPN's, LAN/WAN, wireless, and external connections such as Internet and remote offices
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to mitigate downtime and disruptions
- Maintain documentation related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records
- Deploys, maintains, and monitors VMWare and Hyper-V Hosts and virtual machines
- Monitors server uptime and ensures monitoring tools are configured and maintained
- Monitors daily backups and works to resolve backup issues
- Performs regular maintenance of file servers, print servers, application servers, and domain controllers, applying updates and security patches as required
- Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis of complex end user and server problems
- Assists in designing, planning, implementing, managing and inventory of server infrastructure
- Work with the Trean IT team to support/optimize IT infrastructure for strategic projects
Requirements
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- 4-8 years of work experience as a network/system engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Software development or scripting coursework or experience.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Microsoft software, including Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, and Azure Services
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (either Hyper-V or VMWare)
- Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts and integration with on-premises infrastructure
- Knowledge of Server and SAN technologies
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, common network infrastructure components (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches, etc.) and the function of common IP-based protocols (e.g., Telnet, FTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, Cloud security, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, and Virtualization
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, and hubs
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools
- Strong ability to develop and maintain highly detailed and accurate process and procedure documentation, as well as both physical and logical infrastructure topology diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Current industry standard certification such as Comp TIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, preferred
- MCSA, MCSE, or similar certification preferred
Salary Description
75,000 - 90,000
