IT Manager/Network Administrator

Full-Time/Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The IT Manager / Network Administrator provides proficient and experienced oversight and management of the technological infrastructure within the organization to assure all employees have adequate, functioning technology to accomplish their jobs. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all information systems, networks, and IT-related activities while supporting the company's objectives and maintaining a secure, efficient, and reliable IT environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

Network Administration:

  • Design, configure, and maintain the company's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary upgrades or improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.

System Administration:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical company data.
  • Ensure software licensing compliance and manage software updates and patches.

Hardware and Software Management:

  • Manage procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware, including computers, servers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to employees regarding software applications, troubleshooting, and IT-related issues.
  • Partner with leadership to make key decisions around investments in hardware and software.
  • Deploy and manage endpoint policies, software, and permissions using Rippling / Company Portal
  • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding of users including the setup and creation of user accounts for all applicable systems (O365 Suite, file sharing services, web applications, etc.) and user devices.

IT Security and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Lead the company's response to audits for IT-related issues and client security questionnaires.

Vendor Management:

  • Liaise with external vendors, service providers, and contractors to procure IT-related products and services.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships effectively.

Team Collaboration and Training:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify IT needs and requirements to support business operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on proper use of IT resources and tools.
  • Lead and develop the IT Support Team

Budgeting and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create a strategic Information Technology vision and roadmap for the organization that supports organizational goals, and build on that vision.
  • Optimally manage the company's IT spend to drive operational as well as cost efficiency.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of IT management, network administration or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, systems administration, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Relevant technologies/software: Active Directory, Switches, Firewalls, VLAN’s, VMware, O365 Suite, MS SQL Database, MS CRM Dynamics, VPN, Windows OS.
  • Certifications - Experienced multi-software admin.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to make own decisions and effectively implement technology solutions that have company-wide impacts.
  • Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives while effectively collaborating and team building across functions to achieve results.
  • Skilled in developing a long-term vision and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences and how the IT vision/strategy is aligned with and linked to the company vision/strategy.
  • Must be able to manage and schedule multiple projects on an ongoing basis with the ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal employees and external customers.

Working Conditions and Frequency:

Willingness to coordinate and handle IT emergencies in non-office hours.
