Description:
A Full Service Law Firm, a technology-driven law firm, seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join its Public Entity Law and Labor/Employment Law defense practice groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of litigation, including written discovery, medical record/employment file reviews, depositions, trial preparation, expert witness management, and status reporting to clients. The position requires the ability to handle a significant caseload while maintaining a high-quality work product and working primarily in the firm's San Diego office in a hybrid office/remote setting.Duties:
- Conduct written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Perform thorough medical record reviews to gather pertinent information for cases.
- Conduct and defend depositions as needed.
- Assist in trial preparation, including drafting legal documents, preparing exhibits, and coordinating with witnesses.
- Manage expert witnesses, including selection, preparation, and coordination of their case involvement.
- Provide regular status updates to clients on case developments.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of litigation, including written discovery, medical record/employment file reviews, depositions, trial preparation, expert witness management, and status reporting to clients
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the California State Bar
- 4 to 8 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and procedures
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Familiarity with cloud-based litigation programs and billing protocols
- Admission to the California State Bar
