Network Administrator (It)

To administer and monitor current enterprise network infrastructure. Evaluate potential new technology and proposed changes to the environment. Assist in the design, acquisition and/or configuration of new applications, upgrades, and modifications.

• Participate in the acquisition and implementation of new network hardware, software and security products
• Participates in problem management activities such as issue resolution and root cause analysis
• Implements best practices for security and operations, including coordinating regulatory requirements
• Coordinates infrastructure support with Network and Systems Engineers
• Plans, tests, and implements upgrades and changes in coordination with information technology team, City staff and vendors
• Helps set and maintain relationships with network service providers
• Monitors network status, security alerts and related applications
• Participates in creation and maintenance of documentation and support procedures for individual technologies
• Provides consultation and training or training options to end?users
• Maintains compliance of regulatory and licensing requirements
• Helps identify, prioritize and propose solutions for infrastructure improvement
• Collaborates with internal customers to help forecast future needs
• Participates in efforts to implement network updates including upgrades, patches, and new releases
• Assists in the development and maintenance of network reporting, analytics, and governance
• Available for after-hours support as needed
• Acts as an escalation point for the helpdesk
• Performs other duties as apparent or assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Works on assignments with minimal technical direction
• Demonstrates independence in researching solutions
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Ability to work with Network Engineer to prioritize allocated workload
• Excellent communication and client support skills
• Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and process management skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, ORan Associate's AND at least five years of experience in enterprise application or systems administration or help desk, OR eight year's of experience in enterprise application or systems administration or help desk
• Three years of experience in enterprise application or systems administration or help desk
• Strong writing and documentation skills
• Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, knowledge of analytical tools, and complex troubleshooting methods

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with network/wireless environment
• Experience with MDM, MFA, ADFS, and SSL Certificates
• Experience with a Windows Active Directory environment
• VMWare experience
• Experience with CLI scripting, Linux, VPN
• Experience with Teams, SharePoint, Office365

This position does not supervise others.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $88,159 - $93,528 Annually

2024 Full Salary Range: $88,159 - $117,530 Annually
