Full description The Skiltrek Team supports the United States Navy in their goal of providing reliable and secure information services to their shore-based networks. Our customer Client has an opening for a Junior Network technician, supporting the NGEN-SMIT Team, in providing IT Services. Job Responsibilities: - Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years' experience as a Network Technician. - Position requires a high school diploma and a Security+ CE - Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required. - Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling experience. - Knowledge of network protocols - You will be part of a Team of Network Technicians and Engineers. Overview of Duties: - Provide network technical advice and assistance during the planning phase of a deployment or exercise and coordinate swift solutions to networking problems during the execution phase. Provide direct computer and network support to include router, firewall, Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Domain Name System (DNS), Active Directory (AD) and Exchange, configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. - Support operational requirements for the operational environment; identify required Hardware (HW) and Software (SW); - Coordinate return of any unused and reusable equipment to stock; coordinate the transportation of all HW and SW required to support contingency operations and obtain all import permits. - Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed. - Investigated, resolved, documented, and reported the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk.

Qualifications Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years' experience as a Network Technician Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment Secret Security Clearance is required (will upgrade to Top Secret) The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence and continual improvement, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, innovative thinking in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Strong customer service and communication is necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and network reliability Other evidence of intellectual, technical, business accomplishments, and related technology leadership experiences will be considered with in Cisco CCNA in 6 months and must have Security+ on day one.
