Network Administrator
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of a Network Administrator are to oversee and support the day-to-day operation of computer systems and networks throughout the organization, ensuring reliable performance and data integrity in local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and organization intranets. In this role, Network Administrators evaluate a business's needs while setting up and maintaining computer networks, monitoring network and system performance, and collecting data to enhance security and reliability.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Provide network support with a variety of operating systems. (Windows 16/19, Windows 10, Linux)
- Install and configure computer network equipment
- Lead in network design and implementation.
- Monitor and maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.
- Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
- Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources including documentation for systems and applications
- Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
- Create and maintain network users/permissions including password resets,, and account activations
- Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
- Provide application implementation support and technical guidance and serve as the primary resolution point for all systems.
- Maintains and supports all enterprise information systems infrastructure, including PACS, voice recognition/reporting systems, and other advanced processing workstations/systems.
- Develops test plans, prepares test data, and performs system testing.
- Monitor Service Desk email boxes and handle level 2 requests, as well as Service Desk audits
- Participate in appropriate user forums, planning sessions, and status meetings.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Network Administrator
Qualifications:
- 3-5 Years of experience working with networks and systems in a professional environment
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience installing/supporting networking equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related field, preferred)
- Experienced working with firewalls including configuration, deployment, rule writing, etc.
- Well-versed with network connectivity, integration, and protocols including subnetting, routing, and trunking
- Advanced understanding of LAN/WAN/Networking concepts and troubleshooting tools, including networking and routing
- In-depth knowledge of VPNs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Experienced in technical break/fix computer skills with Microsoft Operating Systems:
- Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and other Microsoft Productivity Tools.
- Previous service desk experience answering phones, using a ticketing system, and providing top customer service
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. continuously in support of Service Desk Hardware accountabilities.
- Healthcare experience and health information systems are preferred.
