ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for Natural Resources Technician 1– Delaware Shooting Range and Education Center (2 positions available - Delaware County) within the Division of Wildlife, within the state of Ohio. What you will do…
- Check range permits and check patrons in and out of the range
- Answer general questions from the public concerning the range, enforce range rules, etc.
- Perform general labor & preventative maintenance functions of indoor/outdoor facilities
- Perform grounds maintenance duties (e.g., snow removal from roads & parking lots, mow grass, pick up trash, litter, debris & brush cleanup)
- Assist in applying chemicals for vegetation and pest control
- May also work on Delaware Wildlife Area and complete other duties as assigned

- March 2023 - January 2024
Work Hours/Work Conditions…
- 24 hours/week (typically 8 hours/day). Must work Friday, Saturday, Sunday and some holidays.

These are 1000 hour intermittent (unclassified) positions for the Division of Wildlife. The location for these positions is:
- Delaware Shooting Range and Education Center, Delaware County
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary; valid driver’s license; valid Commercial Driver’s License required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Section 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
Additional Qualifications: Ability to complete Range Safety Officer training. Experience in basic firearm operation and safe handling. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height. The application must be reliable and team oriented.
