ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.


We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Technician 3 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Paint Creek State Park, assigned to Highland county. What you will do…

  • Work outside in some of the most beautiful parks in Ohio.
  • Perform customer service functions with a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.
  • Acts as a lead worker for excavation and equipment projects
  • Maintain campground facilities, grounds &/or equipment.
  • Maintain a variety of park equipment and vehicles.
  • Interact daily with a variety of customers who utilize the park & watercraft facilities.
  • Starting hourly pay of $20.60/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service, with an end salary of $23.49/hr.

Qualifications

12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in safety practices; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in use of shop, hand & power tools & light equipment; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in carpentry, electrical repair & plumbing; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in equipment operation, maintenance & repair (e.g., tractors with attachments); valid driver’s license; valid commercial driver’s license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
  • Or 6 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Technician 2, 22622.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
