Our client, a professional association for CPA’s is seeking a Membership Programs & Events Specialistto join their team.
- This is a temporary position with potential to convert to a perm job.
- The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm with overtime.
- The position is hybrid.
- The pay rate range is $30.00 - $34.00 per hour and is based on experience.
- The perm salary range is $54,500.00 - $62,600.00 and is based on experience.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of membership programs and events under the direction of the Membership Associate Directors.
As needed, the Membership Programs & Events Specialist will support planning efforts for education activities as appropriate and available.
This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate planning details including site selection/contracting, venue management, Food &Beverage AV, speaker management, sponsor recognition and fulfillment, registration, on-site logistics and other responsibilities as required for all Society membership non-CPE events, including, but not limited to:
- Monthly Membership Receptions & Networking events
- Monthly Membership Lunches/Focus Groups
- MSF Fundraising events (Gala, Golf Tournament, etc.)
- Lobby Day
- Annual Meeting/Gala
- Excellence in Financial Journalism Awards ceremony
- Leadership Conference
- Student recruitment and engagement events
- NextGen recruitment and engagement events
- Events targeted to specific segments of membership (e.g. Educators, Women, etc.)
- Holiday Party
- New CPA Ceremony
- When additional support is needed due to scheduling conflicts, provide back-up planning and on-site support to the FAE Education Manager for FAE Conferences and to the MSF Program Manager for COAP site management.
- With oversight from the appropriate Associate Director, manage the following membership programs:
- Mentor Match
- Leadership Institute
- Emerging Leaders Awards
- Utilize project management software to track and monitor department project progress.
- Other duties as assigned by the Membership Associate Directors.
Knowledge & Skills:

- Requires a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant meeting and/or event management experience.
- Requires strong project, time management and communication skills.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with database management software i.e. Aptify, AM.net, iMis, NetSuite, etc.
- Experience with project management software i.e. BaseCamp, Asana, Monday.com, etc.
- Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize and follow through effectively.
