Thresh is a New York-based, female-led performing-arts nonprofit producing work about storytelling in all its forms. From creating cross-cultural productions that deal with issues of identity, race, gender and inclusion, to outreach programs for marginalized and underserved communities in the US and abroad, we represent the underrepresented.

Thresh is proud to be a project-based organization, collaborating with multi-disciplinary artists of different backgrounds and viewpoints. Working on various projects at once allows for the employment of individuals from many artistic disciplines—from composers to librettists, visual artists, and more.

Join us! We are currently looking for an Event Coordinator Volunteer with experience in basic serving + event coordination to help us prepare for and ensure a successful performance night and guest reception on April 3rd.

Location: Manhattan

Requirements: Must have prior experience in basic event coordination/assistance. Must have experience in serving drinks/food in a formal setting. We are looking for someone with impeccable etiquette around high-level guests; we encourage candidates with this knoweldge and basic serving experience to apply. Attention to detail and courtesy with guests is important. Must be available for in-person work on the late afternoon and evening of April 3rd, 2024.

Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing a checklist of responsibilities and performance details ahead of time with a staff member
- Actively communicating with various staff and other volunteers during the reception
- Setting up for the performance and following event
- Serving guests drinks and foods in a professional and courteous manner
- Providing guests with information
- Assisting with clean-up following the event.
- Ability to to make decisions on the spot if required
- Familiarizing oneself with Thresh as an organization

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: From $1.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
