SalaryA leading Vein practice in Chicago is seeking a qualified Medical Transcriptionist. The individual will interpret and transcribe dictation as well as written notes from physicians and other healthcare providers to document patient care and facilitate delivery of healthcare services while maintaining the rules of confidentiality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transcribes medical reports from physicians and other healthcare providers including but not limited to patient assessments, therapeutic procedures, visit notes, treatment/care plans, and/or diagnostic reports from written notes in accordance with established priorities and format.
- Utilizes reference materials appropriately and efficiently to facilitate the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of reports.
- Prints and proofs dictated documents; delivers to physician/healthcare providers for signature/review, as needed.
- Protects and maintains confidentiality of medical reports/information.
- Assists physicians and other healthcare providers locate reports, as needed.
- Assists with data entry, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree;
- At least one year of related experience;
- Knowledge of medical terminology;
- Knowledge of transcription guidelines and practices;
- Commitment to excellence and high standards;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent grammar and spelling skills;
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow;
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm;
- Acute attention to detail;
- Accurately type a minimum of 65 wpm;
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines;
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels;
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Pay: $20.42 - $24.59 per hour
