Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Collect and verify patient insurance information
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
- Handle patient billing and payment processing
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers
- Document properly within the patient charts
Skills:
- Experience working in a medical office or dental office setting
- Proficient in using medical scheduling software (eClinicalWorks)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong administrative skills, including data entry and record keeping
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient information
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Ability to efficiently use a multi-line phone system
- Customer Service and professionalism
