Our boutique concierge primary care practice, , is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist and Assistant. This is an ideal position for pre-med, pre-dental, or pre-nursing pre-PA students looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a healthcare setting and earn a recommendation letter for future endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Room patients, take vital signs, and perform in-house diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, urine analysis, strep tests).
- Prepare examination and cosmetic rooms for patient visits.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Occasionally verify insurance coverage for specific cases and assist with billing inquiries.
- Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments only part of the time.
Requirements:
- Customer service or medical office experience (preferred)
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a healthcare environment (required)
- Excellent communication, writing, and typing skills (required)
- Understanding of medical terminology and procedures (preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently and independently (required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records (required)
- Professional demeanor and appearance (required)
- Knowledge of medical scheduling and front desk operations(preferred)
Additional Information:
- Work hours: 6-8 hours per day, 3 days a week, Wednesday,Friday and any other day of the week, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There is an option for increased hours for the right candidate in May 2024.
- Patient volume: Currently seeing 4-8 patients per day, with potential for growth.
- Compensation: Competitive hourly wage, with the opportunity to earn additional commission.
