Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting, possess strong communication skills, and be familiar with medical terminology and scheduling systems.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Manage office supplies and maintain a clean reception area
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as AdvancedMD or similar
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
