MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Job Description:
This position is perfect for someone who values being a part of a close-knit, warm and caring environment working with a primary care clinic that is committed to equitable integrative healthcare. This is a position requiring excellent customer service skills. It is highly visible, requiring discretion, good judgment, a pleasant and professional manner and articulate phone voice. Part-time at 16-20 hours per week to start.
As the Medical Receptionist, you will:
- Create an exceptional experience for our patients through relationship building, follow through, and working to solve problems/questions they may have.
- Check patients in and collect information such as health history, insurance, etc.
- Schedule appointments for multiple providers.
- Verify insurance benefit
- Make confirmation calls for appointments
- File, copy, and scan documents as needed.
- Identify and collect co-pays, deductibles and other payments.
- Be responsible for maintaining and recording patient schedules.
- Triage multiple lines of communication, answer questions or forward messages as appropriate, and maintain effective scheduling for patients using an electronic health record system
- Provide excellent and accurate customer service to patients.
- Maintain clinic in a neat, organized, and welcoming fashion.
- Inventory, organize, and restock clinic spaces as needed, including front office, exam rooms, lab area, break room, supplement product display, and washrooms with respective supplies, equipment, and products.
- Follow established procedures for opening and closing the clinic each day.
- Support providers with administrative tasks related to patient care.
- Support Clinic Administrator with front- and back-office tasks.
- Strictly adhere to patient privacy laws by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information and following HIPAA at all times.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required; university/college degree is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of Customer Service/Medical Front Office or Reception.
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

- Experience using electronic health records, especially Athena, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at time.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
