We are seeking a skilled ophthalmology biller to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our practice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement processes.
Responsibilities:
- Process billing and claims for ophthalmology services, including surgeries, consultations, and treatments
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation
- Collaborate with medical staff to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure compliance with coding regulations
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing regulations and guidelines
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the practice
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an ophthalmology biller, preferably in a medical practice or healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. ModMed.
- Strong understanding of medical coding, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
