Location: La Jolla, CA 92037
Hourly Range: $22-$28 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Diabetes and Endocrine Specialists, a leading private practice in La Jolla, is seeking Medical Receptionists. Our practice combines top-notch staff, advanced technology, and personalized care protocols to deliver exceptional patient experiences in endocrinology and diabetes management.
Role Description:
The Medical Receptionist serves as the crucial first point of contact for our patients, embodying the welcoming face of our practice. Responsibilities include warmly greeting patients upon arrival, facilitating seamless check-in and check-out processes, overseeing appointment scheduling, managing insurance verification, maintaining accurate patient demographics, auditing billing documents, and coordinating closely with our clinical staff. They also handle co-pay collection, manage the cash drawer, oversee credit card transactions, establish connections with referring offices, and efficiently handle a busy phone line to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One (1) year of previous related experience in a similarly fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of third-party payers, including federal, state, and private health plans.
- Demonstrated computer skills and ability.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communicator and able to manage high volume telephone calls.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and familiarity with HIPAA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with endocrinology.
- Experience with electronic medical record keeping (EMR/EHR).
