Plastic Surgeon in New York City seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Receptionist & Assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate must be a team player and able to multitask, prioritize, and work well in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for all front desk administrative tasks, as well as working directly with our board-certified plastic surgeon during specified medical and cosmetic procedures.
This job is ideal for an individual who is looking to pursue a career in the health care field (ie. pre-med, pre-pa, pre-nursing)! You will learn & gain exposure to the ins and outs of plastic surgery, starting from consultations, all the way to post-surgical care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
· Register new patients and update existing patient information in the EMR system (NexTech).
· Schedule appointments for both new and existing patients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
· Answer all phone calls and emails, responding to new patient inquiries and existing patient questions.
· Complete administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and organizing documents.
· Escort and aid lead surgeon into patient appointments, including consultations, pre-op visits and post-op visits.
· Scribing in EMR system office procedures, such as consultation, surgical and follow up notes.
· Occasionally assist surgeon in both exam and operating room with minor and local anesthetic procedures.
· Set up for select procedures including local anesthetic surgeries, suture removals, etc.
· Clean, organize and supply patient rooms.
*** Plastic surgery or dermatology experience is preferred, but not required for position. Training for medical and surgical procedures will be provided upon hiring.
