Medical Receptionist

Sunrise Psychiatry LLC is a group private practice providing outpatient mental health treatment to our community. As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will perform various tasks on a daily basis, so you should be able to multitask and prioritize autonomously. A positive attitude, calm demeanor, and compassionate, caring nature are required since, as the first point of contact for patients, you will serve as the face of the practice. Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional manner.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
• Facilitate the workflow of patient visits with check-in, notifying providers, and check-out.
• Ensure patients’ medical records are properly organized and updated with all required paperwork.
• Collect and post patient payments for services, including insurance co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible amounts.
• Answer telephone, voicemail, email, and fax inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinate communication between patients and their providers.
• Use medical software to support all transactions.
• Manage requests for and delivery of medical records.
• Develop relationships in the community on behalf of the practice by coordinating inbound and outbound referrals.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient rights.
• Maintain a clean and inviting space for patients and staff.
• Perform a variety of duties in accordance with established priorities and procedures of the practice.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with medical software and MS Office.
• Knowledge of healthcare operations.
• Familiarity with HIPAA.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Customer-oriented and professional communication skills.
• Hard-working, team player mentality.
