Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule and confirm appointments using medical scheduling systems
- Collect and update patient information in electronic medical records
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Manage patient flow and ensure a smooth check-in/check-out process
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
They must also be able to work well with the back office Medical Assistants. Multitasking is an important factor in this position.
- Understanding of medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Proficient in using office equipment (e.g., computers, printers, scanners)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
