Responsibilities:
- Receives patients and families and provides assistance with scheduling appointments and patient registration
- Greets patients and families in a professional manner
- Ensures proper visit documentation is received and delivered to needed parties
- Answers medical and non medical questions and provides needed advice
- Conducts appointment reminder and needed visit calls
- Follow HIPPAA polices at all times
- Participates in company sponsored safety programs
- Orders and performs screenings and lab tests
- Facilitates flow of patients to ensure patient satisfaction
- Answers phone and electronic messages in a timely manner with correct documentation
- Updates electronic medical record and immunization registration with current and historical vaccinations
- Orders and administers needed vaccines
- Contacts patients and families with lab and test results
- Administers dental varnish
- Completes school physical and other forms in a timely manner
- Assists with prescription refills by reviewing medical and prescription history
- Schedules outside labs and tests such as X-Rays
- Records vaccine storage temperatures twice daily
- Other duties as assigned
Other:
- High School education or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Competent in use of basic office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively and remain professional when interacting with potentially hostile patients and family members
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
