Description: We are a medical facility providing Physical Therapy, Chiropractic care, Acupuncture and pain management treatment to injured patients. We are looking for a Medical Front Desk Receptionist who will handle the administrative duties of the facility. He/She will be responsible for greeting patients/visitors, answering phone calls, maintaining scheduling. He/She must be well versed in the various services offered at the facility and able to provide adequate information to the patients. He/She will ensure that all procedures, from pulling the correct patient files to charting are closely followed so that the medical team can concentrate on the well-being of the patients. The Medical Front Desk Receptionist will ensure that interaction/communication with back office is done in a smooth manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily opening and closing procedures of the office
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Answer phone calls, email and fax inquiries.
- Monitor daily visit lists to ensure all patients who require appointments are scheduled appropriately.
- Schedule appointments and referrals.
- Handle patients' questions, requests and concerns.
- Guide and assist patients with intake and checkout process.
- Collect Copays and manage the cash box on daily basis
- Prepares new records, files insurance claims, and maintains records.
- Take clear and concise phone messages.
- Complete, upload and submit medical records upon request.
- Manage patients' transportation list.
- Maintain inventory and submit front office supply order to Manager.
- Protect patient privacy by adhering to the HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.
- Ensure that all working areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and are fully stacked.
- Assist in all areas of facility operations as requested by management and additional duties as assigned.
Specific job Knowledge & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer Service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service skills, and work ethic.
- Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
- Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously with high level attention to detail.
- Must be able to translate/act as a liaison between patients and physicians
- Possession of typing and computer skills an asset
- Understand HIPPA and OSHA regulations and privacy practices.
- Knowledge of No Fault/Workers Comp/Commercial Insurance
- This position requires the ability to walk, talk and sit for a long period of time.
- Must be comfortable interacting with doctors and attorneys.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
