Medical Office Front Desk job plays a crucial role in the smooth functioning of a healthcare facility. The Front Desk staff is often the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and other individuals.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Collect and verify patient information, including personal details, insurance information, and medical history.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Ensure all necessary forms and documentation are completed accurately.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.
- Reschedule appointments as necessary and notify patients of any changes.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient scheduling and minimize wait times.
- Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Respond to patient inquiries, both in-person and over the phone in a timely manner (regarding services, office hours, and general policies).
- Relay messages and information between patients and healthcare providers.
- Assist patients with the check-in process upon arrival.
- Collect co-payments or fees, as required.
- Ensure accurate billing information and process payments.
- Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions related to co-pays or fees.
- Reconcile daily financial transactions and prepare deposits.
- Provide general administrative support to the medical office.
- Assist with faxing, scanning, and other clerical tasks.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient office operations.
- Address and resolve patient concerns or issues in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
- Escalate issues to higher-level staff or management when necessary.
- Use computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software to input and access patient information.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as handling phone calls, checking in patients, and addressing inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school graduate, or GED
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish
- Should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong customer service-oriented attitude.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology, EHR systems and a knowledge in medical office procedures a plus.
- Must understand the importance of patient confidentiality.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
