Medical Assistant/Front Office

· Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.

·Identify incoming patients with acute needs and immediately notify medical staff of the concern.

· Check in patients, verify and update necessary information in computer system and on patient forms.

·Review and collect insurance information.

·Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.

·Prepare encounter forms for use during health care visits.

· Calculate charges and collect payments.

· Schedule appointments. Coordinate patient appointments in an effort to achieve maximum level of service from ECR staff.

·Issue Verification of Benefits (VOB) forms to patients and follow-up in a timely manner to confirmation receipt of VOB. Provides the Physician with information regarding the status of VOB's as requested.

· Monitor provider schedules. Problem solve, as much in advance as possible,
reschedule as needed or instructed.

· Answer telephones, screen and route calls to appropriate destination.

· Respond to requests for information regarding services available in the
organization.

· Assist uninsured patients in obtaining health coverage/benefits by identifying potential sources of coverage. Assist ECR patients with completing the necessary forms for application assistance and processes the paperwork to the appropriate companies. Follows up in 4-6 days to ensure applications are completed or being completed. Provides the Physician
information regarding the status of the application.

· Screens visitors to practice, assuring property security. Consults with supervisor when a
disruptive patient presents for services. Assures all visitors remain in a calm manner and when appropriate at the direction of the supervisor requests inappropriate patients to depart.

· Works closely with medical assistants to maximize patient flow.

·Maintains organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.

·Attends staff meetings as requested.

·Performs related work or other tasks as requested or assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
