Job Description
Essential Job Functions include the following:
Responsible for assignment of accurate Psychiatric Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes, current procedural terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), modifiers, and quantities derived from medical record documentation (paper or electronic) for outpatient professional fee acute care clinic visits.
Maintains productivity and accuracy requirements as outlined for each client.
Ensures all required parts of the medical record that pertain to coding are present, accurate, and comply with CMS,
Must be computer literate and can work between multiple applications on the system.
Knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, documentation requirements, familiarity reimbursement guidelines and encoder experience
Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and be able to understand and follow individual client Standard Operating Procedures
The position requires excellent computer/communication skills for provider and staff interactions..
Will report to the Finance Manager, Manager of Operations, and Partners
Knowledge & Experience:
A minimum of 2 years with a psychiatric group practice is required.
(TMS Therapy billing is a plus)
Current AAPC or AHIMA Outpatient coding certification is required.
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
The candidate must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, email, Microsoft Office and Outlook, and client systems and be experienced in Tebra (Kareo).
Schedule (Subject to change)
4- hours onsite - at least on 2 days/week between 9-5 PM
Participate in a meeting with the Managers on one of those days.
