Overview:
This position will be responsible for taking inbound calls from patients and addressing/resolving any questions or issues they may have concerning their billing statement of a health care nature. The position requires the ability to professionally handle any patient concerns and collect past due balances while maintaining and providing excellent customer service, maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding calls, aware of HIPAA laws while leaving voice mail messages, and the ability to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere. Urgent need for Bi-lingual Spanish speaking candidate. Hours of operation Monday-Saturday 6:30am-7PM and Sunday 8am-5pm. Split work week varies depending on what schedule will be given. Candidates will be expected to work or cover shifts anytime Monday - Friday with alternating weekends during our regular working hours of operation.

Responsibilities:*
- Receive inbound calls from patients and work to resolution any concerns or issues they may have with their bill
- Answer phone calls quickly and in a pleasant, professional manner
- Clarify charges and/or payments with patients
- Updating patient demographics and insurance information
- Resolving patient complaints and/or escalating calls when necessary
- Assist patients with terms for repayment structures as well as negotiate any overdue balance to recover payment from patients
- Collect payments from patients for processing by credit card over the phone
- Process and manage Medical Billing claims
- Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility
- Miscellaneous projects that include the use of spreadsheets and word templates
- Perform other duties as assigned by the payment center manager
- Reports as directed to the payment center manager
Qualifications:
- Medical Billing experience - 3-5 years
- Excellent Customer Service Skills with 2-5 years of patient-facing duties
- Epic experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Understand the terminology and principles of full life Medical Insurance Claims, including insurance eligibility and verification, medical insurance claims, EOB, denial management, and ppeals
- Experience in the use of insurance web portals and IVR
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer software and technology
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- High time management and organizational skills
- Scheduling Flexibility
- Customer service experience in a health care Call Center environment
