JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, performs various patient care services to include some delegated medical procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Help and accompanies patients from waiting room and prepares patients for examination.
- Help in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Interview patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical record.
- Collect, labels and delivers specimens to the laboratory.
- Participate in performance improvement activities as they are available.
- Attend company meetings, as required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent bedside Manner. Appears friendly, reassuring and approachable to patients.
- Ability to be a team player working towards team goals.
- Familiar with medical charts and records.
- High attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Experience - 3-6 Years of Experience Preferred
- Certification -
- Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS
- MA Certification
