Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.
We are looking for aMechanical Building Automation Systems Estimatorcandidate to join our expanding self-perform functions here at RQ. Our Building Automation Systems Estimator is responsible for preparing controls cost estimates for assigned scopes of work on a given project. The Building Automation Systems Estimatorwill be responsible for estimating more than one project at a time. This should be done with accuracy and within the required timeframe, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Candidates local to the Carlsbad, CA or Jacksonville, FL offices will be considered.
Salary: $115,000-$130,000.00 annually (depending on experience)

Qualifications include:
- BA/BS degree in engineering or related field is the minimum formal education required for this position. A combination of equivalent work experience and training in the field is qualifying.
- A technical degree in HVAC or Electronics related studies is acceptable with five or more years' experience (or equivalent) in architectural/engineering/construction estimating and related functions, including planning, techniques, and contracting
- Basic knowledge of DDC, BAS, PLC, HMI, Fire Alarm and Low Voltage control systems
- Conceptual and Hard-Bid estimating
- Computer literacy(Microsoft Office, Internet, TEAMS, ) required.
- Specific software literacy(On-Screen Take Off, Adobe Reader ,Bluebeam)preferred.
- Previous work experience in the construction design-build industry, including work with contractors and subcontractors in public market is place or military construction preferred.
- An understanding of NFPA/NCIT and other related fire and life safety codes is beneficial; training can be provided.
