San Bernardino County is accepting applications for Automated Systems Analysts (ASA) II who are responsible for server and network infrastructure support, as well as second tier support on desktop environments. ASA II's are responsible for diverse information systems that may include interfaces to other County enterprise systems. Essential duties include senior-level system administration, advanced troubleshooting skills, network design and management, database and server administration, evaluation and recommendation of new technologies, capacity planning, writing hardware and software specifications, and interacting with vendors and other departments.

*The resulting eligible list may also be used to fill vacancies throughout the County as they occur, including vacancies within the County Special Districts, Fire District and the CONFIRE Joint Powers Authority (JPA). The County Fire and Special Districts Departments are separate entities from San Bernardino County, and as such, compensation and benefits for their positions are set forth in a different compensation plan. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting and polygraph for some positions, and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.
Shift Availability: Must be available to work different shifts. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working night shifts.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following experience -AND- education requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience, within the last five (5) years, supporting Microsoft networked desktops, maintaining and supporting networking functions, supporting file and print servers, administering Active Directory and coordinating user and desktop support, which must also include three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in at least three (3) of the following areas:
  • MS Windows 10/11
  • Macintosh OS X
  • Linux
  • MS Office 2016 and newer
  • MS Office 365
  • MS Azure Administration
  • Mobile device support, including Apple iOS, Android, and Windows OS
  • MS Windows Server 2016 and newer
  • Enterprise Backup/Restore/Disaster Recovery
  • Enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN)
  • Network Infrastructure Support (Wired and Wireless)
  • MS Active Directory
  • MS Systems Center
  • MS SQL 2016 and newer
  • Hyper-V or VMware
  • MS SharePoint 2016 and newer

-AND-
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATE*:
Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed coursework from an accredited college, university, or technical school in information technology, computer sciences, or a closely related field -OR- a certificate as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Administrator may substitute for the required education.
*Education Substitution:One (1) additional year of qualifying experience can substitute for the education/certification requirement.
