The Materials Planner is responsible for the Materials function including the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials to meet Company objectives and customer requirements. Responsible for Receiving Goods, Inventory Maintenance, Material Transactions, Production Order Creations, and Shipping Transactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
- Establishes inspection priority of materials needed for build plan.
- Works with Operations to create an attainable build plan.
- Creates production orders.
- Transacts sales orders for build plan.
- Ensures proper transactions for shipment of finished goods.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results.
- Understands key elements of material activities including kitting, inventory locations, receipt of material and pick lists.
- Responsible for annual physical inventory activity.
- Establishes bill of material and router creations within ERP system for R&D and production build requirements.
- Ensures proper material planning and material procurement to meet build forecasts.
- Oversees the purchasing of materials and supplies for the operation of the Company, in addition to all inventory items.
- Provides for the maintenance of systems that relate to the materials function.
- Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- An undergraduate degree or high school diploma and at least 3 years’ work experience in material handling is required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The incumbent should be a team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibit good organizational skills, time management and be deadline oriented.
- Experience in shipping and receiving or stockroom activities.
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Must be capable of lifting up to 8-10 pounds
