Job description

Duties

  • Purchase all general supplies, tools, parts, and equipment through various methods
  • Schedule maintenance and lift test dates and times on all lifting devices and material handling equipment
  • Perform all warehouse duties to include receive, store, inspect and inventory all general supplies
  • Operate forklifts and load and unload commercial carriers
  • Perform Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) duties, create label from Hazardous Material Management System (HMMS) for all HAZMAT containers.
  • Dispose of Hazmat containers wearing proper PPE.
  • Operate Automated Tool Inventory Control Tracking System
  • Perform Tool and Calibration duties
  • Serve as alternate Key and Lock Custodian maintaining an automated key and lock control management system

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program and requires an initial drug screening test as well as random drug tests for duration of employment.
  • Incumbent is required to meet ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of employment.
  • Incumbent must undergo physical examination and receive favorable results prior to appointment and annually thereafter.
  • Incumbent must meet the heavy lifting requirements (in excess) of 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain a Forklift Operators Permit for forklifts.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Expediter~ without more than normal supervision. Maintain tool and equipment inventory through databases and receipts; operate forklifts; knowledge of hazardous waste regulations; and skill in repairing locks and lock mechanisms. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort:Work assignments involve light physical effort in standing, walking, and bending. Frequently lifts and carries tools, locks, supplies, and other item that weigh up to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds.
  • Working Conditions:Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Inside environments are well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Outside work may be performed in hot, cold, damp, poorly lighted and drafty conditions. Incumbent may be exposed to potential falls, cuts, scrapes, bruises abrasions and possible injury. Work performed in warehouse environment is subject to injuries from falling stock, handling materials, hazardous materials and mechanized equipment. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as gloves, hard hats, aprons, approved safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
