Are you an HR system and process expert with a burning passion to utilize your professional skills to make a significant impact to more than an organization's bottom line? MFS is currently looking to fill a new full-time role,Director of HR Systems and Services! This role is critical to leveraging our HR Systems and data, and the development and continuous improvement of HR processes, to support the agency's mission and growth objectives. Additionally, the role is foundational in enhancing efficiency, employee experience, and ensuring an overall seamless end-to-end HR Operation!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Planning and Leadership-As a member of the HR Leadership team and in collaboration with the MFS Executive Team you will align the HR system strategies with the organization's objectives. You will lead, oversee, and delegate work to a hardworking and dedicated team within the Systems and process function ensuring mentorship and development of team members in the area of HR Systems and Processes.

HR Systems Management, Development, and Process Optimization-Oversee the implementation, management, and optimization of the HRIS systems. Collaborate to develop and streamline processes covering the end-to-end employee lifecycle (onboarding, recruitment, performance management, compensation, succession planning, etc.). Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in HR Systems providers, vendors, and technology. Support in managing vendor’s systems to ensure interface with internal systems where value is added and/or required.

Project and Change Management-Manage projects, project team members, and implementations of varying size. Oversee and ensure tasks and deliverables are delivered on time and in alignment with Stakeholder expectations and according to budget. Ensure change management strategies including strong communication and expectation setting, accountability, and follow through. Serve as liaison among HR, IS Finance, and other key stakeholders for system troubleshooting and design, development, and implementation projects.

HR Data Management and Compliance-As a leader and domain expert in HR data and systems, this role will heavily partner with IS and be a key member of enterprise-level data governance initiatives. Responsible for HR data in and data out, consistency in the use of HR data, and overall HR data quality. Work with relevant teams to load data, interface management, monitoring, and ensuring an aligned data definition and use of data. Manage permissions, access, and system operations and settings for users. Management of data security and privacy requirements. Ensure system compliance as well as HR process compliance and related audit process (i.e. background process, program-mandated clearance process, I-9 verification process, documentation storage compliance, etc.)

Reporting-Develop a “decisions by data” work culture. Develop and deliver essential reports and help define KPIs and objectives, ensure appropriate data is available to relevant users, and continually develop dashboards and reports to meet the needs of the agency and end users.

HR System and Process Support and Training-Responsible for developing and overseeing day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting, guidance, and training to users. This includes but is not limited to the development and continuous improvement of process documentation, work instructions, tutorials as well as online and in-person training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Management, or related required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing HR Systems and processes, with at least 3 years in direct leadership capacity required.
  • Hands-on knowledge and demonstrated expertise in HRIS platforms (UKG, Workday, SuccessFactors); UKG implementation, configuration, and optimization experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated use of project tools and methodologies. Project Management certification is highly desired.
  • Strong analytical skills. At minimum intermediate Excel skills and can see the value in data and numbers and how they are critical to long-term solutions and decision-making.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in varying positions and levels.
  • Experience leveraging HR systems in a non-profit environment to support compliance and requirements of varying programs strongly preferred.

SALARY:

Compensation is commensurate with years of related experience, position requirements, and candidate qualifications. The average annual salary for the position is $115,000.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment. If an approved Medical is obtained, weekly testing may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
