RSi is seeking a Material Expediterto join our team supporting our customer on Redstone Arsenal.

Position Description Summary

This position is in support of the METTS III contract at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) on the Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville Alabama. This position is in direct support of the Pressurant and Propellant Delivery Systems (PPDS) group supporting propulsion test activities as well as other pressure systems activity across MSFC.

The Material Expediter locates and moves materials and parts between storage, staging, and work areas on center to expedite processing of goods according to department schedules and priorities, and keeps related record of parts delivered, received, and Purchase order statuses. Items, components, and material may be transported using a cart, hand truck, government vehicle, forklift, or overhead crane.

The Material Expediter Confers with department supervisors and reviews production schedules, work orders, and procurement records to identify types, quantities, and availability of required materials and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials. They will arrange work staging areas and allocate items to the workflow in bins or pallets.

The Material Expediter compiles material use data provided by Engineering to assist in procurement planning and supports Engineering by communicating with vendors to request quotes for parts, tools, and material, and completing material purchase request documents under direction of Department Supervisors. They will also update digital records of component and work order information based on component specification sheets.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.

Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.

Required Experience/Education: (i.e.: Knowledge, skills, abilities, software, etc.)

• Material Expediter position candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year of work experience that directly relates to the responsibilities above.
• Candidate must display a strong attention to detail, be able to work within deadlines, and be capable of working with engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
• Must have the ability to follow specific work instructions and prioritize multiple responsibilities while working independently.
• Must Posses a valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience:(i.e.: Knowledge, skills, abilities, software, etc.)

• Familiarity with mechanical equipment such as valves, gauges, pumps, tools, hardware, and piping.
• Prior work experience in warehouses or stock rooms.
• Knowledge in propulsion test operations at a NASA Test Facility is strongly desired.

Work Environment: Primarily indoor office, workshop, and industrial settings

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on occasion, sit or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders in a warehouse environment.
