Compensation: $18 - $20 hourly
FLSA Status: 3/4 Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator provides leadership in marketing of library programming, collections, services, and general communications. This role includes marketing, public relations, media relations, advertising, and social media. The Marketing Coordinator will identify, develop, implement, and evaluate all marketing and promotional strategies for LCPL. Additionally, this role is responsible for the development and maintenance of our website using LibGuides CMS.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Coordinates with the Director to create a long term marketing plan.
  • Coordinates with all library departments to promote programs, collections, and services by creating social media posts and flyers.
  • Creates and distributes press releases, flyers, etc.
  • Assist with strategic planning, development of policies and procedures, and initiatives related to general communications and marketing.
  • Coordinate the creation and production of promotional and informative materials, signage, and annual reports, ensuring consistent quality, brand integrity, and graphic presentation.
  • Effectively ensure that all communications are inclusive and ADA compliant.
  • Build and foster community relationships that further the library’s mission and strategies.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with media outlets, library partners, and other professional service providers.
  • Assist in circulation operations as needed.
  • Participate in special projects, or other duties, as assigned

All Lake County Employees may be required to work as a Disaster Service Worker when a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by the Board of County Commissioners. To be prepared for this role, all employees and emergency service function (ESF) leads will attend emergency management trainings and exercises as requested by the Director of Emergency Management. With advanced notification from OEM, employees will make reasonable efforts to attend training events in coordination with other employees and supervisors.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • The ability to work evenings and Saturdays
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in customer service (retail, food, or other industries is acceptable)
  • Has the ability to create graphics and other promotional materials using programs such as Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other digital tools to edit graphics
  • Has the ability to work independently
  • Has the ability to analyze a situation and make informed decisions
  • Has excellent computer skills and can easily navigate Web browsers and programs such as MS Word or equivalent word processing programs or Google Apps.
  • Has some knowledge of HTML or other programming languages
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish.
