Job Title: Data & Evaluation Coordinator/Grant Writer

Job Summary:

In 1972, twelve advocates from North Denver’s Chicano communities came together to form Servicios de La Raza (Servicios or SDLR) to address the unmet needs of Denver Metro’s low-income, Latino population. 51 years later, Servicios now provides services to over 80,000 individuals throughout Colorado each year.

Responsible for writing grants as assigned by the Vice-President of Development (generally grants $100K and under), and working collaboratively with numerous programs, this position will create compelling grant proposals that drive results and accelerate both the administrative and programmatic capacities of the agency. Additionally, this position will coordinate with all programs to assist in gathering, evaluating, and reporting data per agency needs and grant contract requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities: Position Specific

  • Provide analytical insights (quantitative and qualitative) from internal and external datasets to support Servicios’ program areas.
  • Handle data ‘end-to-end’, from scope to analysis/reports/dashboards, presentations, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Create data capturing templates for each grant/program area to ensure that all contractual reporting obligations are achieved.
  • Lead in providing technical assistance in program evaluation to Program Directors and other staff through a Strategic Learning methodology.
  • Research and identify new government, corporate, foundation, and private funding prospects to match Servicios de La Raza’s priorities.
  • Generate high-quality proposals, narratives, applications, and supporting documents for new and existing funders (generally, for grants under $100K or as assigned).
  • Oversee and maintain the agency’s universal calendar for grant reporting.
  • Work with appropriate personnel to research, develop, write, and submit letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and select grant reports.
  • Coordinate and follow-up with the Vice President of Development on the progress of submitted proposals and any issues that may arise with a particular grant.

Duties and Responsibilities: General

  • All members of the SDLR workforce are expected to support the agency’s community outreach, engagement, and recruitment efforts.
  • All members of the SDLR workforce are expected to support and engage in advocacy for social justice, community outreach and engagement, and bringing voice to the voiceless.
  • All members of the SDLR workforce are expected to support the agency’s fundraising objectives. Tasks might include activities like active fundraising, grant development, solicitation of donations, agency ambassadorship, informational outreach, and public speaking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Commitment to and experience with equity, cultural relevance, diversity, social justice, and disparity reduction practices with persons of color, agencies of color, and un- and underserved communities
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, agency partners, and the public
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • 3-5 years of progressive, grant writing experience with demonstrable success
  • Superior writing and storytelling skills
  • Able to prioritize work and work with autonomy
  • Editing and content review through positive and productive critique
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Required Education and Credentialing:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in a field related to the grant writing position (i.e., health and human services, not-for-profit)

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

  • ADA accessible.
  • Ability to perform basic office duties.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion.

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 with discussion of possible raise upon 90-day review
