About HAAM: Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is dedicated to supporting Austin's vibrant music community by providing access to affordable healthcare for working musicians. With over 9,000 musicians and 3,000 HAAM members, we are committed to keeping live music alive and thriving in Austin.
Position Overview: HAAM is seeking a passionate and talented Marketing & Communications Manager (MCM) to lead our efforts in sharing our mission and stories with the community. The MCM will develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand identity across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate annual communication plans aligned with HAAM's mission, programs, and fundraising goals.
- Ensure messaging and brand consistency across all HAAM communications, including websites, social media, and print publications.
- Serve as an advocate and spokesperson for HAAM, promoting our mission and programs to stakeholders and the broader community.
- Manage and update HAAM websites to ensure accuracy of information and enhance user experience.
- Analyze communication strategies to maintain high-quality messaging and engagement.
- Plan and execute institutional communications, including print and e-publications, to effectively reach target audiences.
- Collaborate with development and program staff to support fundraising and program initiatives through strategic communication efforts.
- Oversee HAAM's social media presence and engage with online communities to drive awareness and participation.
- Manage contracted public relations officers, copywriters, graphic designers, and social media experts as needed for projects.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with media representatives to promote HAAM's mission, programs, and events.
- Coordinate media relations programs, pitch local and national media outlets, and draft press releases as necessary.
- Serve as the editor of all HAAM publications and maintain media archives.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in strategic organizational communications, including developing and implementing measurable communication plans.
- Passion for music and understanding of the role live music plays in Austin's cultural and economic development.
- Experience with fundraising event promotion, individual donor development, and similar fundraising activities preferred.
- Proficiency in designing cohesive marketing plans across various channels, including print, web, social media, and public relations.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing and reporting on social media and marketing metrics.
- Familiarity with health-related messaging and marketing is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, journalism, English, sociology, or liberal arts preferred.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Asana and various software programs including Microsoft Office suite and web applications.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work protracted or irregular hours as needed.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive personal or agency vehicle for business purposes.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 (based on experience).
