Communications Manager

he Communications Manager is responsible for implementing a coordinated external public relations campaign and a comprehensive internal communications program in support of the objectives of ABS.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and implement strategic communications plans across multiple external market sectors for ABS Group.
• Prepare and track operating budgets supportive of these functions.
• Establish relations with key personnel in appropriate trade media and to prepare and distribute press releases and place editorial articles within the trade press.
• Organize and Prepare press events and related press packages.
• Prepare all collateral press related material, in print and electronic media, in support of new product launches.
• Review and edit speeches, conference papers and placed media articles.
• Contribute appropriate content to the ABS Group internal and external web sites.
• Oversee the production of video and other electronic media presentations which are relevant to the activities of ABS Group.
• Provide input relative to the content of brochures and other marketing material which address the corporate image of ABS Group.
• Contribute editorial content to ABS Group newsletters and magazines.
• Establish and maintain a close working relationship with selected contract providers of marketing and communications related services.
• Stay actively informed of the public relations initiatives of principal competitors.
• Assist with conference and seminar speaking opportunities for ABS Group personnel.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of seven years’ experience, ideally including a blend of journalism and agency or in-house corporate communications experience.
• Managerial or supervisory responsibilities are essential.

• Good working knowledge of MS-Office.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills.
• Must be able to assume a high level of individual responsibility.
• Professional creativity and flexibility are essential.
• Familiarity with one or more of the marine, offshore, life sciences, power, government or oil, gas and chemical sectors is advantageous.
• Needs to be familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to Director, Strategic Marketing and may have direct reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
