Position Summary
Directs the development and execution of CAS’ promotion, marketing, storytelling, and Communication efforts to support undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as other college and Dean’s Office activities and events. Collaborate with University Communications, CAS departments/units/schools, engagement programs, and community partners on the Marketing and Communications efforts for the college using a variety of social media, news media, and other communication platforms. Help develop and execute strategic Marketing and Communication plans for the college and units/programs. Identify and monitor key market performance indicators and marketing/communications market trends. Design and produce various reports, marketing materials, videos, and presentations for the college. Write feature stories, news releases, scientific communication, faculty and student highlights, newsletter content, website content, social media posts, and perform copy editing. Oversee development and execution of printed materials, multimedia & video projects, CAS websites, newsletters, social media channels, swag materials, and other marketing or communications efforts. Assist with CAS Marketing and recruitment materials, event planning, coordination, and promotion, branding efforts, and other needs as they arise.

Job Duties

Responsibility Area:
Marketing/Communications Oversight and Development

Duties:
  • Oversee and execute all Marketing and Communications efforts for CAS.
  • Researching, writing, editing, and designing Marketing and Communications pieces for print, web, multimedia/video projects, and social media.
  • Promotion of college-wide/special events including those for internal (faculty, staff, students) and external audiences (prospective students, community members).
  • Oversee production of the college’s annual print publication, the CAS Magazine.
  • Create and execute email strategy for marketing campaigns and email communications and newsletters.
  • Coordinate photo shoots and videos for marketing materials.
  • Execute strategic communications and marketing plans for the college/units/programs.
  • Liaison to MarComm, and the marketing departments of Grad Studies, NU Foundation & Alumni Association.
  • Coordinate with UNO contacts to elevate the CAS brand and tell our story through UNO Alumni magazine features, MarComm features, UNO graduate and other highlights, and local media.
  • Coordinate purchase swag materials each academic year, including welcome items.
  • Onboarding new employees with UNO marketing/comms platforms.
  • Ongoing support and training for staff and faculty with UNO marketing/comm platforms

Duties:
  • Manage CAS website, maintain updated news center, homepage content and information architecture, create content, coordinate with UNO Digital Communications Team. Oversee updates and maintenance of websites under the hierarchy of the college including department and program sites.
  • Monitor social media outlets, engage with followers, and post relevant content for each platform.
  • Create content, graphics, and videos as promo/advertising/marketing media and to promote faculty, staff, alumni, and student achievements on CAS social channels.
  • Support and/or train staff in the area of website/social media on platforms such as Cascade, HubSpot, and Marq (formerly LucidPress).

Duties:
  • Collaborate with and advise college leadership. ·
  • Collaborate with UNO staff, faculty, and leadership.
  • Coordinate with University Marketing & Communications to define strategy and technical parameters for CAS web and social campaigns/projects, and print materials.
  • Collaborate with the NU Foundation and Alumni Association to support development initiatives such as the annual giving day, Wear Black Give Back.
  • Serve on committees as necessary, including MarComm-led initiatives.
  • Monitor Google Analytics and social media stats to examine the effectiveness of current and future recruiting programs and marketing/communications efforts.
  • Update marketing/communications plans for the college/units/programs based on results.
