Job Description: Communication Intern

The Communication Intern will work closely with the Omaha STEM Ecosystem Director and Marketing Communications Coordinator to develop content to enrich the Omaha STEM Ecosystem website and social media platforms. Through this position the intern will be versed about the Omaha STEM Ecosystem (OSE) and the STEM Community Platform (SCP). This role will be instrumental in sharing the mission and impact of the Omaha STEM Ecosystem while gaining visibility for our platform among parents, students, professionals and educators.

Key Duties

1. Developing Content for OSE
   1. Establish content ideas for the upcoming monthly during monthly brainstorming meetings with the Director and the Marketing Communications Coordinator.
   2. Researching and creating multimedia elements to be uploaded to the website and social media accounts.
   3. Assist the Marketing Communications Coordinator in the creation and maintenance of an OSE blog.
   4. Ensure content is uniform to our tone of voice for landing pages, graphics and other elements within the communities.
   5. Create content for the OSE website and social media pages related to business and education opportunities in Omaha that relate to STEM careers
2. Understanding and monitoring website analytics
   1. Track key website analytics on a monthly basis on Google Analytics.
   2. Analyze content performance and traffic flow on social media Z.
3. Manage Social Media Accounts
   1. Manages the OSE's three social media accounts, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
   2. Brainstorms campaign ideas
   3. Understands the overall concept of the OSE, including our branding and messaging.
   4. Grow our social media presence
   5. Help develop strategies for capturing target audience and current customer engagement.

Key Skills Required for the Role:

• Proven written communication skills, and a passion for writing both short and long copy;
• Excellent verbal communication skills;
• Familiarity with key Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• An ability to consistently demonstrate our values of insight, hard work, and effectiveness in your personal approach to work;
• An entrepreneurial attitude;
• Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn;
• A proactive, service-focused attitude towards clients and candidates and the teams you support internally;

• The ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and may be required to offer proof of a negative skin tuberculosis test.
