As a Manager, HRBP, you would be responsible for developing strong relationships with your ABC News client groups and delivering integrated and inclusive HR partnership in areas such as: DE&I and Culture, Strategy Development, Organization Design, Talent Management, Organization & Employee Effectiveness, Change & Transition Management, and Functional HR Integration. This team needs someone innovative, scrappy, and passionate to come and support our ABC News teams. We welcome professionals from different backgrounds and experiences to apply.

Every day as a Manager, HRBP is different! On any given day, you might:

  • Establish and maintain an intimate understanding of your clients’ organizations and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, at all levels of the organization.

  • Plan, lead and support organization design projects to streamline and implement new structures, roles and/or processes that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.

  • Proactively assess business and organizational performance to recommend and drive action through a consultative, “influence without authority” approach.

  • Coach business leaders on HR policies and processes, including talent planning, learning and development, and performance management to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.

  • Drive diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization, personally and programmatically

  • Assess organizational performance systemically, defining talent gaps and proposing HR solutions that support client business objectives.

  • Coach business leaders on key organizational and management issues.

  • Plan and facilitate work sessions to develop business strategies (i.e. vision, mission, value, objectives) that help support organizational focus, efficiency, speed, and business results.

  • Develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on forecasting, staffing, on-boarding, development, performance management, career / succession planning, talent movement and retention, leveraging rigorous workforce analytics and insights.

  • Use understanding of individual and organizational dynamics to facilitate talent movement into and throughout the organization.

  • Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention.

  • Assess employee training and development needs based on business strategy in order to help close gaps between current and future skill sets.

What you’ll bring to the table:
Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a professional role in a dynamic environment, with specific experience in strategy development (preferred), organizational design, talent management and change management.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing executives (e.g. VP/Director)

  • Experience working with executives in an “influence-without-authority” role.

  • Previous experience managing multiple client groups and prioritizing associated projects in a fast-paced and high-volume, complex environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place.

  • Ability to position self as credible (garners respect, acts with integrity, keeps commitments); proactive (has a point of view, challenges assumptions, takes initiative); and a trusted thought partner (builds relationships, delivers results).

  • Independent work style, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision.

  • Equally adept at consulting, thinking strategically and execution. Exhibits a roll-up your sleeves attitude.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to balance Business Partnering skills with employee advocacy.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a business-related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an HRBP directly supporting clients in union and non-union environments

  • Project Management experience

  • Advanced data and analytics capabilities, including strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience working in a large, corporate, matrixed environment


The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $132,100 to $172,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
