We’ll trust you to:
- Coach and counsel managers and employees on all employee issues; identify and clarify problems, evaluate potential solutions and implement course of action
- Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct investigations and recommends resolutions
- Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Navigate sensitive and confidential issues, leverage Corporate HR legal resources to minimize risk in today’s changing legal environment
- Prepare necessary paperwork in compliance with the HYE progressive discipline policy including written warnings, performance improvement plans and separation letters.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Handle all recruiting responsibilities including creating and maintaining job descriptions, creating job postings, screening candidates, interview scheduling, extending offers, and overseeing pre-employment screening and onboarding
- Monitor current and future job openings, create and maintain relationships with candidates and candidate sources
- Work closely with operations supervisors to monitor headcount and proactively recruit for new hire classes, usually done in bulk
- Assist with onboarding and training of all new employees in conjunction with managers and Director of Operations
- Collaborate with division leaders on their annual business, growth and succession plans, and development and learning opportunities for employees
- Drive and execute internal DEI strategy in conjunction with business leaders, employees and corporate initiatives
- Coach and counsel managers and employees as part of tailored employee growth and talent management plans
- Manage annual review process for all employees in conjunction with HYE’s President and Corporate HR
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Implement Corporate HR initiatives and policies as needed
- Develop and lead a strategic plan to improve and enhance the workplace culture focusing on the areas of communication, staff development, and celebrating and appreciating staff. Continually solicit feedback from the team to measure success
- Assess existing policies and implement new ones through a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) framework to support the hiring and success of a diverse and multilingual team. Collaborate cross-departmentally on projects that are identified by the DEI committee as delivering the most impact
- Potential to oversee day to day management of HYE Office Manager who handles logistics for staff engagement and DEI initiatives
- Manage cross-division communication and engagement opportunities
- Lead existing and new employee programs with HYE team
- Annual compensation planning and implementation for all employees in conjunction with corporate year-end compensation and promotion process
- Annual and/or as needed market analysis
- Provide guidance on benefits and leave matters in conjunction with Benefits team
Compensation:
- Expected annual base salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 + Benefits + Bonus
- Actual base salary within the above range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications.
You’ll need to have:
- At least 5 years of relevant HR experience, particularly in a generalist capacity
- Mature professional with excellent judgment and intuitive interpersonal skills
- Highly entrepreneurial, self-motivated and results-oriented individual
- Superior communication skills:
- Ease in working with people up and down the organization hierarchy
- Naturally adaptive to different audiences
- Diplomatically assertive
- Strong project management skills, specifically organization and time management
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to manage discreet, confidential matters
- Familiarity with New York laws on payroll, leave, wages, and hours helpful
