The Lodge & Housing Manager at Woodward PA is responsible for all aspects of housing, housekeeping and hospitality services at all properties owned by Woodward PA. Woodward PA is home to a 12 bedroom lodge, 5 Room Hotel, 8 Room Action Sports style Barn and houses up to 850 campers in an array of cabins along with up to 250 staff in various housing accommodations located on and off the main campus.
The Lodge & Housing Manager will oversee the placement of campers, guests and VIPs in appropriate housing, resolve any housing conflicts, and ensure that cleaning standards are being adhered to with a focus on enhancing the guest experience. The Lodge & Housing Manager will ensure that the housing needs of our guests, staff, and campers are being met in a prompt, appropriate and high touch manner. This position resides at the Lodge.
Located in Woodward Pennsylvania, this is a full-time year-round positionwith a proposed compensation of 50K with flexibility based off experience,a robust benefits package including Flexible Time Off, Matching 401K, Health Benefits, Annual Bonus Incentive Program, on-site housing options, and more.
BASIC/SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
- Lodge residency required.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Willing to travel as needed.
- Food is provided during summer camp season.
- As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the Hospitality/Hotel Industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Experience working in a Camp environment is preferred.
- Oral communication skills and ability to keep accurate written documentation and records
- Basic computer skills and ability to use email, booking software, and spreadsheets.
- Health and Safety Certifications (or ability to obtain), CPR / AED Certification
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Lodge & Housing Manager should be knowledgeable in an array of hotel industry practices and must be willing to evolve and adapt with the needs of the business.
Passionate People
- Hire and recruit new and returning staff including but not limited to Lodge and Housing staff and coordinators as well as housekeeping staff and supervisors via applications, social media, and industry resources.
- Train and develop staff to ensure highest standards of hospitality service and guest experience are executed to Woodward standards.
- Evaluate housing staff to ensure all set policies and procedures are being adhered to and performance levels are above expectations.
- Lead weekly meetings to discuss current issues, scheduling, and safety standards.
- Greet guests and assist them with check in/out, availability to answer questions and address issues.
Dynamic Programming
- Elevate the hospitality service to meet a resort style accommodation.
- Create and execute company standards for cleanliness and appearance of all guest facing areas.
- Ensure housing accommodations remain ready for guests at all times.
- Meet needs of guests and campers by effective housing placement.
- Work with F&B and other hospitality teams to ensure accommodations and food service is provided to Woodward standards.
- Work with Programming departments to ensure animation and activity schedules are in place for all Lodge guests.
- Manage all lodging properties and units to ensure regular repair & maintenance is performed.
Innovative Environments (Facilities and Equipment)
- Provide a warm and welcome atmosphere for our VIPs, campers, and staff.
- Set cleaning standards, procedures and guidelines along with systems to adhere to.
- Recommend improvements to housing facilities and standards.
- Develop, and manage a yearly budget for operational expenses.
