The primary function of House Manager is to provide pregnant women, nurturing and healthy environment to reside in. House Managers monitor the overall supervision of the program on their shift while providing support to program participants. Under the supervision and guidance of the Residential Program Specialist, House Managers assist with personal, educational and professional goals of program participants, as well as, maintaining medical appointments. This position creates a positive impact on the lives of the expecting mother, and the staff, who assist them.
House Manager Required Experience/Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid PA Driver's License

- Ability to sit 3-7 hours per day.
- Ability to stand 3-7 hours per day.
- Ability to walk 3-7 hours per day.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 50 pounds.
- Ability to twist upper portion of body on an infrequent basis.
- Ability to squat, bend and kneel for 1-3 hours per day.
- Ability to operate the vehicle assigned to the program.
- Ability to walk up steps
House Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality in regard to all program information
- Responsible for managing the house
- Provide transportation with the agency vehicle for program participants as necessary
- Provide life skills training, outreach, parenting education and emotional support to program participants
- Ensure that program participants understand and comply with the guidelines/rules for behavior in the pregnancy shelter
- Basic computer skills necessary to complete daily notes for each program participant
- Participate in staff meetings and other community meetings and events as requested
- Maintain a cooperative relationship with coworkers, supervisors and directors and create an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust
- Flexible to change in duties and flexible with providing shift coverage
