Dr. Alexis “Stocko” Stamatikos, tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University, is currently accepting applications for a postDoctoral Fellow to join his laboratory. The desired start date for this position is June 1, 2024. The Stocko Lab focuses on how cholesterol metabolism impacts overall health and influences the development and progression of atherosclerosis and other disease states. Techniques and technologies employed within the Stocko Lab include mouse husbandry and genotyping, Cre-lox technology, lineage tracing strategies, end-point RT-PCR and qRT-PCR, immunoblotting, immunostaining, mouse aorta harvest, sectioning, and staining, ex vivo cell isolation, and advanced cell culture. Prior experience with successfully breeding and maintaining transgenic mice is required for this position and competency with ex vivo cell culture isolation, characterization, and maintenance is strongly preferred
Qualifications:
