Legal Assistant

Law Firm in downtown Shreveport is seeking a Part time (25 - 30 hrs/wk) Legal Assistant to join our team.

This position will require solid administrative and communication skills, a dedication to the team and job performance, and a consistent work toward excellent customer service. There will be opportunity for growth in this position and full-time employment could become an option.

Job Duties:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents
- Conduct legal research using various resources
- Organize and maintain client files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible
- Prepare and proofread legal correspondence and documents for accuracy and completeness
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings for attorneys
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to gather necessary information and documents
- Perform data entry tasks to update case management systems
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information

Experience:
- Associates/Bachelor's degree encouraged, but not required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills
- Familiarity with legal drafting and document preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong typing skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
