SalaryNew Orleans law firm is Willing to Train the right candidate to become a highly skilled Paralegal Assistant/Legal Assistant. Responsibilities:
- Supporting lawyers and paralegals in connection with all aspects of transaction management, including preparing , transcribing, heavy editing, proofreading and finalizing of correspondence and legal documents.
- Assisting paralegals with paralegal tasks.
- Performing pdf scanning of documents and e-filing in various courts.
- Organizing and profiling legal documents into document management and records management systems.
- Performing functions associated with firm administrative tasks, including processing new client/matter requests, preparing expense reports, making travel and meeting arrangements, and assisting with client billing.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Ability to accurately type 60+ words per minute.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently as a member of a team, take initiative, balance competing priorities and see projects through completion.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and respond to changing priorities.
- Ability to work the firm's normal working hours, 9:00 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. Monday – Friday, with the possibility of working on weekends or evenings.
- Must possess discretion, confidentiality and a professional, positive attitude with a sense of teamwork.
