- Type correspondence, pleadings, and documents.
- Responsible for understanding all court procedures and filing fees.
- Responsible for being proficient with Mass Courts and e-filing with court systems.
- Responsible for maintaining Outlook calendar for upcoming Court Hearings including reminders for court-related duties such as Citations, requests for paperwork, deadlines, etc.
- Review of Outlook calendar daily to keep attorneys current on upcoming Court dates, meetings, pre-trial conferences, etc.
- Prior to the date of the hearing, meetings, pre-trial conference, etc. inventory all documents to ensure the complete file is available to an attorney prior to the event date, including filing fees.
- Filing.
- Open files for new clients, maintain Active Case List and maintain Temp./Perm. List
- Filing necessary documents with the Court.
- Provide clerical assistance when requested including specialized projects, CQI requirements, input billing, etc.
- Procure Bonds for Guardianship Program.
- Fulfill Notice requirements for court cases.
- Complete and submit all necessary paperwork to the Court in a timely fashion in accordance with instructions.
- Responsible for requesting clinical documentation from physicians and follow-up Regarding: Roger’s Reviews.
- Responsible for completing a draft of paperwork for Roger's Review Hearings in a timely manner for a review by the Attorney.
- Responsible for completing a draft of the necessary paperwork for Rudrow renewals in a timely manner.
- Prepare legal files for case record review.
- Responsible for opening and date stamping mail pertaining to legal components.
- Assist with answering the telephone.
- Assist with sale and management of real estate including, scheduling contractors, locksmiths, cleanouts, repairs, etc.
- Coordinate meetings outside office Re: sale of motor vehicles, appraisal, clean outs, etc.
- Maintain Guardianship Forms in CareLogic.
- Responsible for ordering supplies for the Guardianship Program, if requested.
- Assist with the administrative tasks associated with the Parents Forever Program, if requested.
- Responsible for following court procedures when filing correspondence/documents with the court.
- Respond to reasonable expectations of the Attorneys and/or Agency.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience working in probate law is desirable, but not required.
- Three (3) years office experience is required.
