Report to: Manager, Project Management Support or designee
Supervises: None
Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $65,500 to $99,075 annually. There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships and consulting work. In collaboration with the hiring manager, the People and Culture team calculates experience based on the candidate's most current resume. When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates that possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications). Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint to allow for continued growth in the role over time.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Senior Specialist, Project Management Support (Junior Project Manager) provides technical Project Management Support for complex projects aligned with organizational strategic goals while supporting team members' capacity for effective Project Management utilizing best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • The Senior Specialist, Project Management Support (Junior Project Manager) will hold responsibilities in the following functional areas:

    • Programmatic Project Management Support and Implementation
    • Collaborate with team members to create templates for project planning and Project Management using monday.com
    • Create, track and monitor project plans, logistics boards, and budgets for identified large-scale partnership projects in collaboration with Project Lead and Client Partnership Manager
    • Review and provide feedback to Project Lead and Client Partnership Manager on project plans on a regular basis for identified small-scale partnership projects
    • Communicate with team members and stakeholders on the status of projects 
    • Build the buy-in for and mindset toward project planning and Project Management as key to launching and executing timely and high-quality projects
    • Hold shared responsibility for excellent projects that are responsive to partner needs by ensuring effective use of project planning and management tools and processes

    • Cross-functional Collaboration 
    • Collaborate with all Project Leads to identify project planning and Project Management needs
    • In collaboration with other members of the Project Management Support team, create and implement opportunities to build project planning and Project Management capacity for all team members
    • Seek and respond to feedback from team members and adjust strategies and operations accordingly
    • Engage in additional work as needed to meet organizational business needs and priorities

    • Stay abreast of key research and guidance in the field, attend learning experiences to build skills and competencies

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Learning & Research and/or Executive Team.
KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS (KSI)
    • The Senior Specialist, Project Management Support (Junior Project Manager) is accountable for achieving goals set in collaboration with their manager, aligned with FY24 goals, and especially, Key Success Indicators (KSI) like: 

    • Operate efficiently and equitably: Develop and refine internal operational structures and systems to allow all team members and contractors to do their best work every day
    • Design, deploy, and train staff members to make use of various real-time and interactive data dashboards which summarize all data collected through partnerships
    • Provide ongoing coaching to the Program team to reflect data back to partners to drive successful collaborations, including in preparation for mid-year and end-of-year stepbacks
    • 90% of FTEs and PTEs agree that they "have the data or information I need to do my work right"

    • As applicable, within the role, model the radical commitments for our values.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience with Project Management methodologies 
    • At least one year of experience working with a Project Management system (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Jira, etc) 
    • Experience gathering, cleaning, preparing, analyzing, and interpreting data 
    • Strong commitment to Teaching Lab's organizational mission and values in pursuit of educational equity 
    • Proficiencies in Teaching Lab competencies 
    • Highly effective oral and written communicator with the ability to clearly communicate complex information to non-experts
    • Strong Project Management, organizational, and prioritization skills
    • Highly organized and a detail-oriented self-starter committed to quality
    • Able to work efficiently and autonomously
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience with the Monday.com Project Management system
    • Experience with K-12 education or non-profit organizations
WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support operational needs
    • Ability to perform the essential project, duties and responsibilities with or without accommodation
    • All team members are expected to support program/project needs which could mean that you play multiple roles at Teaching Lab (i.e., project lead, support, subject matter expert, etc.). 
    • Travel could be required for the role.  Travel is determined based on business needs and can vary depending on partnership/contract requirements.
