In its tenth year of existence, Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) has helped rescue thousands of victims and worked in over 30 countries and all 50 states in the US. We exist to rescue children from sex trafficking and exploitation.
Job Overview:
OUR’s Jr. Graphic Designer will spend their day creating digital assets for OUR’s social media, email and all digital efforts. This position is involved with design tasks from conception to completion. They participate in producing preliminary versions of designs, engaging in design solutions and processing feedback to improve designs. The jr. Graphic Designer will assist the design team with graphic design needs across the organization and work under the supervision of OUR's Interim Creative Director to produce high quality work. The ideal candidate is highly creative, has a sharp eye for details and a passion for OUR’s mission.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the design team with layout and design of projects including brochures, web content, social media assets, invitations, signage, and other graphics.
- Take on special design tasks
- Have an understanding of standard social media design templates and dimensions
- Produce attractive and effective designs for all media
- Pitch creative ideas
- Provide insight into social media strategies based off prior post performance
- Positively take feedback from other designers to continue growth
- Produce final design solutions (like logos, banners, interfaces)
- Offer input on creative meetings and collaborate with the design team
- Support the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
- Familiarization with OUR’s mission, vision, and goals to advocate for the brand
Qualifications:
- Passion for OUR’s mission
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, communications, or a related field
- A good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite specifically: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- Prior knowledge or experience with Figma - preferred
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production
- Have original ideas and a keen eye for detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A talent for creativity and problem-solving
- The ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
